I have been writing for as long as I have been able to pick up a pencil.
My love for words and how powerful they can be is something I never want to take for granted.
In 2021 I took a huge leap of faith, sharpened my pencil and invested in my education. By learning more about the craft, I hoped it would help me become a better writer.

Many writers who are still unpublished suffer from "Imposter Syndrome". I thought I was the only one who felt this way.
What I am finding however is that I write, because I enjoy writing.
I write because I have something I feel is worth saying.
One of the most important things I learned this year is that
I am a writer...
In October of this year, I will be strengthening my skills as an editor through the Certificate in Editing Program at the University of Washington.
I am so excited to continue learning!
More to come!!
In the meantime, friends, stay salty and keep on writing!

If you have never had the opportunity to do something as off the wall as flying across the country and going to a retreat or conference with a bunch of people you've never met, I highly recommend it! It was one of the best weeks of my life!
Another recommendation I am following this year is to join a writing group. I recently attended a workshop at Village Books, in Fairhaven, WA and I am looking forward to joining some of their writer's groups soon!
